Local hopes for return to 9% hospitality VAT rate dashed



Hopes that the 9% VAT rate will return for the hospitality sector in the next budget have been dashed locally.

 

Former Minister for Finance Michael McGrath previously indicated that reducing the rate would come into consideration.

 

However, the Public Expenditure Minister Pascal Donohoe has poured cold water on the matter saying it would cost more than 700 million euro for the restoration.
