Sligo Bay RNLI issue warning over stand-up paddle-boarding



The Sligo Bay RNLI has issued a warning over the potential dangers of stand-up paddle-boarding.

 

It’s said to be one of the fastest growing water sports but the RNLI crew in Sligo say with that has come an increase in the call outs for people who are getting into difficulty on boards.

Last year, the RNLI saved 22 paddle boarders lives in Ireland and the UK.

 

A number of safety measures and tips have been issued by the crew at Sligo Bay:

Always wear a buoyancy aid
Wear the correct leash
