North Sligo woman among those rescued from Sicily superyacht

It’s emerged that a Sligo woman was one of 15 people rescued from a superyacht which sank off the coast of Sicily this week.

One person has died, and six are missing, including the boat’s owner, British tech tycoon Mike Lynch.

29 year old Sasha Murray originally from Maugherow miraculously survived the disaster with only an injury to her leg.

It’s understood that Ms. Murray has been working in the yachting industry for several years.

Search and rescue efforts are continuing for a third day, with teams fearing furniture may have blocked passengers from escaping.
