Sligo Rovers thumped 7-0 in Drogheda

Sligo Rovers produced a diabolical display on Friday night to go down limply to struggling Drogheda United by seven goals to nil.

Two goals in the opening 10 minutes for the home side set an early tone.

Rovers were depleted with central defender Nando Pijnaker and Stephen Mallon among those missing through injury.

But that didn’t explain the poor nature of the Rovers performance across the pitch as they allowed their well-organised opponents to dictate the game from the first minute to the last.

Friday night’s Premier Division results
Drogheda Utd 7 Sligo Rovers 0
Shelbourne 1 Bohemians 1
Waterford 0 Derry City 1
