Donegal had the highest number of Irish passports issued in the North West so far this year.
The data has been released by the Department of Foreign Affairs today.
To date, just over 17,400 applications were received from people living in Donegal in 2024 – the highest figure in the region.
This is followed by Sligo at 6,792 and Leitrim at 3,311.
County Fermanagh had the lowest number of applications in the country at 3,216.
Nationally, more than 775,000 Irish passports have been issued so far this year, with current forecasts indicating that over a million will be issued by the end of 2024.
The Counties with the highest number of applications were Dublin, Cork and Galway.
Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin said all completed applications are being processed by the Passport Service within or before the advertised turnaround times.
