Man who died in Donegal drowning tragedy named locally

The man who died in this week’s drowning tragedy in Donegal has been named locally as Ukrainian native, Valerri Strunhar.

Mr Strunhar fell into the water while fishing near Dungloe on Monday evening.

Despite a major multi-agency operation being launched, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The late Mr Strunhar, who was in his 60s, had been living in accommodation at Bunbeg House in Gweedore.

A service is to be held in his memory in Dungloe tomorrow.
