St Nathy’s make winning start to title defence

St Nathy’s made a winning start to the defence of their Sligo LGFA Connacht Gold senior football title on Sunday with a narrow 3-7 to 1-11 win over Tourlestrane in Bunninadden.

Nathy’s are bidding to win their seventh senior title in a row – a feat never achieved before in women’s club football in the Yeats County.

In Sunday’s other match, last year’s intermediate championship winners Eoghan Rua enjoyed a 6-13 to 2-4 success against St Mary’s in Enniscrone.

The four senior clubs will play a round-robin phase (three games each) – after which the top two teams will contest the 2024 Connacht Gold senior county final.
