Donegal Gardai have raised awareness over a scam that is currently circulating.
People are receiving correspondence claiming to be from An Garda Siochana, that states their “identification data” has been found in investigations related to child pornography and similar offences.
The Gardaí stressed they would never make contact with a person under investigation in this way and urged to people not to engage with the notice.
They then asked anyone to have fallen victim to such a fraud to get in contact with them so they can provide assistance.
