A Donegal TD has called on the government to introduce state-funded public childcare.
The rising cost of the service continues to be an issue for families, as childcare providers offset the cost of operations, which are also increasing.
There’s also a shortage of spaces for children, leading to one Donegal family having to go to another county for the service.
Independent Deputy Thomas Pringle raised the issue in the Dáil this week and said “there is a real need for Ireland to introduce public childcare for everyone, at a fair cost.”
