Sligo care centre receives approval on unannounced inspection

A designated centre for older people in Sligo was found to be either fully compliant or substantially compliant in all care requirements.

According to the latest HIQA report, St. John’s Community Hospital in Ballytivnan received an unannounced inspection on July 19th.

The centre housed 82 residents on the day, and the inspector noted that they enjoyed a good quality of life and were well-attended to.

One area for improvement highlight was that although the premises are well-maintained and decorated, some areas were in need of an upgrade.
