The 50 million euro beef compensation fund being provided for Irish farmers may have a number of conditions attached including reduction of Ireland's beef production.
The claims have been made by the Fianna Fáil spokesperson on Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Donegal TD, Charlie McConalogue.
Deputy McConalogue says the Minister for Agriculture, Michael Creed needs to clarify when he first became aware the €50 million beef fund announced by the European Commission was contingent on production reduction.
The Donegal based TD says failure to meet the required regulations could lead to a reduction in the funding.
