Tourlestrane's Gerry McGowan has been appointed as head coach of the Corofin senior football team for the 2025 season.
The former Sligo intercounty star co-managed his home club along with Eamonn O'Hara to a five-in-a-row of Sligo senior football championship titles between 2016 and 2020.
McGowan has also been part of backroom teams for the Sligo, Clare and Roscommon senior inter-county football teams as well as roles with Boyle and Coolera-Strandhill.
He now links up with five-time All-Ireland club champions Corofin, who were defeated by Roscommon's Pádraig Pearses in Connacht club championship at the quarter-final stage in 2024.
