Leitrim men's gaelic footballers have conceded Sunday's Division 3 National Football League fixture with Fermanagh.

The game was due to be played in Ballinamore on Sunday.

Leitrim, who are already relegated from the division, say they are unable to field a team.

In a statement issued on social media, Leitrim GAA says the team management has a total of 13 outfield players who are fit to play the game, including two who are coming back from serious injury.

They say this does not include "two goalkeepers who are recovering from head injuries and are not fit to play."

In addition to this, six members of the panel are not available for the Allianz League fixture due to the fact that they are preparing for the Connacht Under 20 Championship clash with Galway on Wednesday.

They continue by saying that Leitrim players "were keen to play this game if it was at all possible." However, the decision was made "due to overall player welfare considerations and duty of care towards to the group for the greater good."
