1 in 20 walk out of North West Emergency Departments without being seen to

It's been revealed that about 1 in 20 people walked out of emergency departments in the North West without being seen to in the last 12 months.

According to figures from the Saolta Hospital Group, 2,371 left the ED at Sligo and a further 1,947 walked out of the Letterkenny ED.

Cllr Donal Gilroy, who is a member of the Regional Health Forum West, says it's a serious situation and it must be more streamlined:
