130 vacant social homes were brought back into use in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal under the voids programme in 2023.
The programme supports local authorities in preparing vacant properties for re-letting to tackle vacancy and dereliction since its establishment in 2014.
73 vacant social homes were brought back into active use in Donegal, with €897,244 paid out to Donegal County Council.
There were 36 vacant social homes brought back into use in Sligo with the local authority receiving €679,314.
While 21 homes were brought back into use in Leitrim in 2023, with the county council receiving €269,760.
Figures show nearly 2,500 vacant social homes were brought back into active use nationally last year.
The Government has spent more than €163 million to return almost 11,000 homes to active use since 2020.
