About 20 people gathered at the courthouse in Sligo this evening in solidarity with the teenager convicted of falsely imprisoning a former Tanaiste two years ago. The boy is planning to appeal the guilty verdicts handed down today for imprisoning Joan Burton and her adviser in November 2014.

The teenager blocked them from leaving a graduation ceremony in Jobstown in Dublin by standing in front of two Garda vehicles. About 20 people gathered at the courthouse in Sligo this evening in a show of support for the teenager.Independent Councillor Gino O\'Boyle was one of the organisers of the gathering. NHe tells Ocean FM why he felt the teenager should not have been convicted.
