Leitrim County Council is being called on to follow the example of their counterparts in Wicklow and declare a biodiversity and climate-change emergency.
The calls have been made by local election candidate and Green party member Blaithin Gallagher.
The north Leitrim based election candidate claims “it's not enough to have a national declaration of the emergency, adding that leadership also needs to be shown locally on biodiversity and climate-change emergency.
