Nursing Homes Ireland says the decision to phase out serial testing in the facilities is an "appropriate" step.
However it's warning the situation must be monitored closely over the coming weeks.

More than 1,500 Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded in nursing homes since the start of the pandemic.
But the latest round of serial testing has shown a positivity rate of just 0.1 percent following vaccination.
