The number of people on trolleys in the two main hospitals in the North West today is 36.
25 of these are in Letterkenny University Hospital with a further 11 in Sligo University Hospital.
According to the latest report from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, 321 people throughout the country are waiting for a bed in emergency departments and overflow areas of wards.
Cork University Hospital is the most overcrowded where 43 patients are waiting on trolleys.
