80% vote to keep Sligo Business Improvement District

Businesses in Sligo town centre have voted for the continuation of the Business Improvement District until 2025.

It follows a vote of 80% in favour of extending the Business Improvement District Scheme

Four years ago, Sligo became the first town in the west of Ireland to have a Business Improvement District, which is an area in which businesses pay a levy to fund various projects.

The CEO of Sligo Business Improvement District, Gail McGibbon, says they will now be focussing on new projects selected as a priority by Sligo BID members.
