99 fines have been issued by Gardaí in the north west region for breaking Covid-19 restrictions.
Almost a thousand fines have been handed out nationally; 771 for non essential travel and a further 200 are currently being checked and processed.
30 fines have been issued for not wearing a face covering in specific locations; the majority of these, 26, were in retail areas.
87% of the fines have been given to people aged between 18 and 45 and 77% of them are men.

Gardaí are reminding people that the 5km limit includes the distance travelled from your home to your exercise location and that all adults in a vehicle or group in breach of the travel restrictions can be fined
