Updated: Abbott to create 200 additional jobs in Donegal

Two hundred additional jobs will be created at the Abbot Diabetes care site in Donegal Town

 

The news was confirmed this morning as the US company announced that they are set to expand their existing site in Donegal.

One thousand new jobs are also set to be created by the company as part of a 440 million euro investment.

 

Abbot also intend to build a brand new plant in Kilkenny.

Michelle Conaghan is the IDA Regional Development officer  for Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.

 

She says today announcement is further evidence of Abbot’s commitment and confidence to the local region:

The Taoiseach Micheál Martin said “This new investment by Abbott in Donegal and Kilkenny is hugely welcome news, bringing up to 1,000 highly-skilled jobs and expanded Medtech manufacturing capacity.

 

The Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar said the news was a real vote of confidence in Kilkenny and Donegal and what those counties have to offer.
