A Sligo councillor says people walking between Ballymote and two factories outside the town are in a situation where there's "an accident waiting to happen."
Fianna Fail Councillor Keith Henry is the latest councillor to call for an extension of a footpath and lighting out the R296 from the town.
He says the road is used by many people working in the factories.
He tells Ocean FM News he wants money put aside to do the work:
