Gardai have described the actions of some drivers in Donegal lately as shocking, despite ongoing high profile road safety campaigns.
They say that unfortunately, the road safety message is still not being taken on board by everyone.
The roads policing unit in Letterkenny have arrested a number of drivers on suspicion of drug driving over the past few days.
On Monday Gardaí from Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit arrested a driver who tested positive for cannabis. The car was seized as the driver was not insured.
On Wednesday they detected a learner driver who was unaccompanied. This driver tested positive for cannabis. The car was seized.
Another arrest was made by Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit on Wednesday after a driver was caught speeding and subsequently tested positive for cocaine.
Gardai say that court proceedings will follow.
They are also warning that their mobility app can confirm in a matter of seconds if a vehicle has insurance or not and it is updated daily with information from all insurance providers.
