Agriculture Minister to hold further talks with Pig Processors

Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue says he's 'acutely aware' of the challenges facing pig-farmers.

The Donegal TD met the IFA last night to discuss the future of the sector.

Pig-farmers protested outside his department yesterday morning, calling for a 100 million euro rescue package.

Speaking in the Dáil last night, Minister McConalogue said he's considering the proposal.
