Aims for improvements to cycling and walking lanes around Sligo

There are hopes there will be improvements and upgrades to the cycling and walking lanes around Sligo.

Sligo County Council are in talks with the National Transport Authority on developing an Active Travel Programme which would incorporate the lanes.

The local authority are working on a proposal that will include a review of existing cycling and walking trails.

Independent Councillor, Marie Casserly hopes that Sligo can become a 'Cycle Friendly Town' within 5 years.
