Almost 160 adults in North West access emergency accomodation in December

Almost 160 adults in North West access emergency accomodation in December

There were almost 160 adults in the North West accessing local authority managed emergency accommodation during the last week of December.

It’s one of the key finding in the latest homeless report released by the Government this afternoon.

During the week of 23-29 December 2024, 157 adults were accessing emergency accommodation in this region.

133 of these were single adults - 11 male and a further 47 female.

The age bracket with the highest number accessing emergency accommodation in this region was the 25- 44 year old category.

The majority of these people were Irish.

As of the final week in December, Sligo continued to have the highest number of adults accessing emergency accommodation at 80, followed by Donegal 60 while there were 17 people in County Leitrim.

During the same week, there were a total of 19 families in the North West accessing emergency accommodation, 16 of which were single parent families.
