Almost 50 waiting for a bed at north west hospitals

Sligo University Hospital was among the top 5 most overcrowded hospitals in Ireland today.

According to the latest figures from the INMO, there were a total of 46 people waiting across the north west, with 36 in Sligo and 10 in Letterkenny.

University Hospital Limerick had the highest amount, with a total of 112 people waiting on trolleys there today.

That was followed by 57 in University Hospital in Galway and 40 in St. Luke’s University Hospital in Kilkenny.

In total, 558 people were on trolleys in hospitals around the country today.
