Almost €688,000 has been allocated by the government for what's being described as 'additional outdoor infrastructure' in the north west.
The funding is to provide a safe outdoors for people to gather and travel this summer as Covid restrictions ease.
It will cover works such as kerb-widening for outdoor dining, new street furniture, cycling facilities and traffic management that prioritises pedestrians and cyclists.
Of the €13m national fund, Minister of State Frank Feighan outlined how much has been earmarked to counties in the north west.
