Almost 8,790 families in North West to receive Back-to-school allowance

Almost 8,790 families across the North West will receive the Back-to-school allowance this week.

Over 47 and a half million euro is being distributed nationally to help with the cost of school uniforms, shoes and equipment.

It means just over 15,800 children in this region will benefit.

Donegal has the highest number of families befitting at almost 5,900 , following by Sligo at almost 1,850 while in Leitrim, there are just over 1,040 families set to receive the payment

Applications for the Back-to-school allowance are still open, with claims being processed up until September 30th.
