An Post publishes list of post offices to close

An Post has published a list post office closures around the country including 27 in Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim.

It includes six post offices in Sligo -- Ballinafad, Dromard, Drumcliffe, Gurteen, Monasteraden -- and Ballinfull which has already closed.

There's four in Leitrim, they include Killargue, and 17 in Donegal including Dunkineely but the remainder are mainly in the north of the county.

Sligo Fianna Fail Councillor Paul Taylor says despite the list the people of Gurteen will not accept the closure of their post office, which is more than 12 kilometres for the nearest post office in Ballymote:
