It's now believed that the remains of an animal found dumped with other items in the Newtownmanor area of north Leitrim were not those of a calf, as had been originally thought.
Sources tell Ocean FM News the animal may have been a young deer.
Other material found dumped at the location included household items and a bullbar from a Jeep.
It's now thought the Jeep may have been in collision with the deer, damaging the bullbar, after which both the bullbar and deer were then dumped, in what is a remote location in a rural scenic area.
