Anomalies in legislation is preventing District Courts from enforcing speeding fines

Over 897,000 euro has been paid by North West motorists in speeding fines over the past two years.

 

Over 10,000 speeding offences have been detected by Gardaí in the Sligo/Leitrim and Donegal Division in 2018 and 2019.

The Fianna Fail spokesperson on transport, tourism and Sport is Sligo Leitrim TD Marc MacSharry.

 

Deputy MacSharry says that although high numbers are being detected, anomalies in the current legislation is preventing District courts from enforcing fines………..
