Ballymote Castle has officially reopened to the public following works undertaken by the OPW.
The Castle is a national monument and dates back to the 13th century.
The attraction had been closed during the pandemic for some safety works and following a safety audit has reopened this week and will be open daily from 10am - 5pm.
Sligo Fine Gael Cllr Dara Mulvey says the castle brings a lot of tourists to the area:
