Belgian family stranded in Killybegs during Covid-19 emergency

Belgian family stranded in Killybegs during Covid-19 emergency

It's emerged that during the Covid-19 emergency a Young Belgian family have spent the last two months in a camper van in Fintra Beach in Donegal.

The family cannot return to Belgium due to the fact that their home has been rented for the duration of their planned holiday.

The family have also been unsuccessful in their attempts to rent a house in the local area due to Covid-19 restrictions

The family have not been in contact with anyone other than the Gardaí.

Local independent Councillor Niamh Kennedy has been in contact with the family and says that despite the challenging circumstances they find themselves in their spirits are still high.

It's understood that a private site has been made available for the family. They will remain theire until they are able  to move on to their destination.
