Niall Blaney has retained his seat on the Agriculture Panel in the Seanad elections.
Senator Blaney held the position since 2020.
South Donegal Fianna Fáil Councillor Michael Naughton, was however unsuccessful in his bid to be elected to the Industrial and Commercial Panel.
Kilcar businessman and former General Election Candidate for Fine Gael John McNulty also missed out on election to the Agricultural Panel.
Fine Gael Letterkenny Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh has also been unsuccessful in his Seanad bid.
Cllr Kavanagh was hoping to get elected onto the Labour Panel and while he did secure more than 24,000 votes, he was eliminated after the eighth count.
While outgoing Senator and Ardara-based Eileen Flynn will be hoping to retain her seat on the Administrative Panel today.
