The body recovered near Killybegs, Co Donegal, early this morning was that of an 84-year old man who had been missing since the afternoon of December 27th.
He has been named locally as Patrick Ward, Roughra, Killybegs.
The discovery was made after searches by the Coast Guard and Donegal Mountain Rescue.
He was found about a mile from his home, between Killybegs and Ardara.

Gardai say the death is not suspicious.
The man's body has been removed to Letterkenny University Hospital.
