The organisation, which seeks to protect people who live close to the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland from the negative consequences of Brexit, has criticised the UK government's decision to prevent the European Union from opening an office in Belfast.

The 'Border Communities against Brexit' Group is calling on the North's Finance Minister Conor Murphy to intervene.

The EU wants to open an office in Northern Ireland to monitor checks and controls on goods crossing the Irish sea.

But the British Minister leading negotiation on the post-Brexit Northern Ireland protocol, Michael Gove, has rejected the request.
