Gardai say they, along with Sligo County Council, are working quickly to ease traffic congestion for road user, but the road will be closed 'for the foreseeable future'.
Meanwhile, Sligo County Council say fire personnel are attending the scene of a fire at Moneygold.

It is believed one vehicle caught fire after the collision
Listeners who contacted Ocean FM said there were a number of loud bangs heard on the road between Grange and Cliffoney with large plumes of black smoke in the air.
A large number of emergency vehicles were seen heading to the scene.
