Bree calls for early-morning rail link with Longford

Sligo County Council is calling on Iarnrod Eireann to provide an early-morning commuter service from Longford to Sligo.

In a unamiously supported motion at this week's council meeting, Independant Councillor Declan Bree proposed that the council request the early morning train service arrive in Sligo before 9 am.

The earliest train currently arrives in Sligo after 10 am.

Councillor Bree believes that an early commuter service would 'significantly benefit' the large number of workers and students who travel to Sligo on a daily basis:
