Concerns have been raised over a possible British and US trade deal that would negatively affect farmers in the north west.
According to Midlands/North West Sinn Fein MEP, Chris MacManus, Ireland is 'sleepwalking' into Brexit as he says Britain is dropping food standards to secure a US trade deal.
There are fears that, for example, cheaper chlorinated chicken would mean Irish farmers will have to compete with cheaply produced food imports.
Speaking to OceanFM News, National Interim Chairperson of The Beef Plan Movement, Patrick Rooney says if such a trade deal came to fruition, it would 'decimate' Irish agriculture as he says over 50% of Irish beef goes to the UK market.
