Bundoran beach is closed to the public today after reports of suspected pollution in the water.
Beach goers are being informed that swimming in the water is not allowed as samples are currently being examined in Letterkenny to determine the cause of the pollution.
It comes at the height of the busy tourist season and the recent spell of good weather.
Speaking to OceanFM News, Bundoran based Sinn Fein Councillor, Michael McMahon says they are now waiting on the results.
