Buyers will be permitted to attend mart sales under the new Level 5 lockdown.
The Minister for Agriculture and Donegal TD Charlie McConalogue has confirmed the news.
Farmers can only attend the mart if they have pre-booked their place with the auctioneer. Online sales will also continue to be in operation during the restrictions.
Leitrim Councillor and agricultural spokesperson/ Paddy O'Rourke says it's welcome news as farmers were reluctant to show cattle with only online sales in operation.
