A Sligo/Leitrim TD is calling for the x-ray service at Our Lady's Hospital in Manorhamilton to be restored as soon as possible.
Sinn Fein Deputy Martin Kenny says a number of constituents have contacted him regarding, what he says, is the lack of x-ray services in the hospital since January.
He says he understands the reason for this is the upgrading of equipment, which is welcome.
But he says the service was due to be back and running in April and this was then postponed until July but services did not resume.
He says he is now informed that the radiographer retired in March and that the HSE was currently recruiting a new radiographer.
Deputy Kenny says it's important the x-ray service is retained in Our Lady's Hospital, both for the people of North Leitrim and adjoining Sligo area, and to ensure there's no downgrading of the hospital in Manorhamilton.
