Calls are being made for the Department of Transport to provide traffic calming at Lough Allen College in Drumkeerin, Co Leitrim.
Local Fianna Fail Councillor Mary Bohan made the call at this week’s Manorhamilton Municipal District meeting, which heard of the dangers that currently exist at the school in the mornings and evenings.
The meeting heard that funding secured for the project would require the college to provide matching funding, something that Councillor Bohan describes as 'terribly unfair on a school with a limited budget.'
