Requirements for the 2017 National Reserve have changed this year.
Under current regulations, young farmers who have not yet received their certification will not be able to apply for the 2017 National Reserve.
In 2015, so long as a person had begun their studies, they could then apply for the National Reserve.
Students who complete their studies after the 15th of May, will not be able to apply.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Leitrim Councillor Brendan Barry says that the rules should revert to what was in place in 2015.
