Calls for further engagement over problematic stretch of road in Skreen

There are calls for further engagement between An Garda Siochana and the TII in relation to a problematic stretch of road in the Skreen area.

The small section, located on the busy N59 between Dromard and Skreen Community Centre, currently has a reduced speed limit however it's understood that some motorists are not adhering to it.

The stretch with a reduced speed limit has previously been inspected by speed van operators and has been deemed to small a distance to enforce.

Local Cllr Michael Clarke says its becoming increasingly dangerous for people trying to exit the community centre there and that a solution must be found:
