Calls for Killybegs housing units to be fast tracked

There are calls for planned housing units in Killybegs to be fast tracked.

The project is currently at preliminary stage but there's concern that it's not moving quick enough to cope with the demand for housing locally.

Cathaoirleach of the Donegal MD Cllr Niamh Kennedy says it's no secret that we are in the grips of a housing crisis and every effort should be made in getting housing stock increased.

Cllr Kennedy says with the ATU merger coupled with other initiatives, Killybegs is becoming an ever increasing attractive place to live and there needs to be adequate housing for people to live there:
