Calls for public lighting on new footpath in Ballymote

A Sligo Councillor is calling for more public lighting to be installed along a stretch of new footpath in Ballymote.

The footpath at Abbey Terrace, which runs along the R293 road from Sligo to Ballymote, is a very popular local walking and running route for residents of Ballymote.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Fine Gael councillor Dara Mulvey says the lack public lighting there at the moment makes the area unsafe for those who regularly use the route.
