Calls for quicker route selection of new N17 project from Knock to Collooney

A Sligo Cllr says it's high time a route was selected for the new N17 project from Knock to Collooney.

It's after the Sligo Regional Design Office confirmed that it hopes to be in a position to publish the Emerging Preferred Corridor in October.

A draft Option Selection Report underwent a review process in July.

Fianna Fail Cllr Paul Taylor says the can has been kicked down the road many times now.

He also says that when all is said and done, it could be up to a decade before a sod is turned:
